mgt-LabMark Environmental Pty Ltd is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Robert (Bob) Symons to the position of Technical & Laboratory Manager NSW.

Bob will initially be located at our Asquith facility and will have a hands on role in the day to day operation of that facility along with the relocation of our Asquith & Thornleigh Laboratories to our new site in Lane Cove later this year.

Bob has over 25 years' experience working as an environmental analytical chemist with experience in the analysis of trace organic contaminants. He has been working in the field of dioxins since the early 1990s where he managed the Ultra-Trace™ laboratory in New Zealand’s Institute of Environmental Science & Research Limited and later for AgriQuality Limited from 1995 until 2001.

Bob moved back to Australia and was part of the team that established Australia’s first laboratory analysing dioxins within the National Measurement Institute in Sydney.

Bob has been a NATA (National Accreditation and Testing Authorities, Australia) technical assessor since 1985 and is a member of NATA’s Environmental Technical Group.

Bob joins us from Asurequality where he has been working for the last few years representing their interests in the Australian market place.

He is a keen surfer, living within a few minutes of some of Sydney’s famous beaches and is also interested in food and wine and is a novice practitioner of the art of bonsai.
